Thanks, Travis!

Can you give us an update on the House Democrat Leader Jim Dunnam not living in his district?

Does this make him ineligible for the November ballot?

2. June BrideFri, Aug 27, 2010 @ 04:58 PM

70 degrees in Austin this morning!!

RE: 1

Here's a recap of the press conference on Jim Dunnam's residency for those that didn't hear about it: http://bit.ly/9IUvi2

I have to admit I was pretty amused by how defensive Dunnam's response has been. And then there's this quote from Dunnam in the Dallas Morning News: "There's no hiding anything about it. Everybody's known about it for a long time."

THE RETURN OF OPEN BLOG FRDAY! AWESOME!!!

5. Cliff WalkerFri, Aug 27, 2010 @ 05:08 PM

Speaking of Hands Off, don't forget to check out www.HandsOffOurLand.com. Think plenty of folks here might like what they see.

6. Andy ReedFri, Aug 27, 2010 @ 05:19 PM

Hands Off Our Land, huh? If you're running for governor and can't make a case for your candidacy, why not resurrect a dead, conceded issue that has nothing to do with the future of the state?

Lame...

RE: 5

Glad to see our Democrat friends from the liberal, trial lawyer-funded Back to Basics PAC have already found our blog and are sharing their propaganda.

This Back to Basics PAC is bankrolled by Houston trial lawyer Steve Mostyn, a man who has made his millions filing lawsuits that have made Texans’ home insurance rates skyrocket in the past few years, while making himself extremely rich.

We will be talking a lot about this front group here on the blog in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, check out what they've been up to this week:

You may have heard in the news that a couple of Post Offices in Texas have been forced to take down small posters that say

'IN GOD WE TRUST ,'
The law, they say, is being violated.

Anyway, we heard proposed on a radio station show, that we should all write

' IN GOD WE TRUST'
on the back of all our mail.

After all, that's our National Motto, and
all the money we use to buy stamps.
We think it's a wonderful idea.

We must take back our nation from all the people who think that anything that offends them should be removed.

Hey, have you seen this great video of Diana Maldonado endorsing Bill White For Taxes?

RE: 9

It's pretty sad when Bill White has to release Democrat endorsements. Next, he'll be accepting the endorsement of the Dem state party because nobody else will offer their support!

11. DMCFri, Aug 27, 2010 @ 06:06 PM

We are Texans, with a proud heritage of standing up for what is right as WE see it. The Socialist Hussein Regime is not smart, they simply do not care about anything but their anti-american agenda. The longer we wait, the more we lose, the harder it will be to fix.
REMEMBER THE ALAMO!!!!!!!!!

I have been extremely perturbed by the amount of vacations a president and his family can take in one year. It's so ostentatious, not to mention in poor taste.

Due to the recession, and the fact that we have 2 kids in college this year, our family won't be going anywhere but the bank for another loan.

I guess the presidential family had better live it up, because they are a "one-term" act.

13. Sideline BombthrowerFri, Aug 27, 2010 @ 09:07 PM

Back to Basics? Like back to the days when personal injury trial lawyers could sue boatloads of doctors out of the state.

Bill White tries to run away from his trial lawyer record, while a trial lawyer props up his campaign with millions of dollars of attack ads. White is trying to run on his business record, but hiding his many business transactions.

How about this basic bill: trust, but verify. Release your taxes big boy.

What is with the U.S.A. apologizing to other countries via Obama? We are the most generous country there is, and always rushing in to help everyone and for some reason Obama is constantly apologizing on our behalf. I am really sick of this.

15. SimmonsFri, Aug 27, 2010 @ 10:27 PM

Travis,

Glad to see the blog going again! Two points for the open blog friday:

1. I nor anyone else that I work with will tolerate Bill White's elitist idea of disallowing military members to vote.

2. While I am feeling real good about the numbers in the polls right now, I have got to wonder what "October Surprise" the communist(dem) party has cooked up. You know something is coming...they can't be this stupid.

16. j. r.Fri, Aug 27, 2010 @ 11:13 PM

if the progressives (dems) follow their usual pattern they will move hard core followers (union members SEIU etc.) to Texas cities, become part of the community and recruit people to vote for their projects, within a few years they control the agenda for that city, (lots of votes for their party). I have seen them do this in other states.DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN TO TEXAS!

It's good to be back! Can't wait to get the old gang back together and meet all our new folks.

Glenn Beck has taught more correct HISTORY in the past few months than I learned in school. He has pointed out that these bailout policies implemented by this festival of idiocy group parallel Woodroe Wilson's and we are getting the same results, ie prolonged recession and joblessness and increased debt. We need reform back to the CONSTITUTION AND BACK TO THE GOD OF OUR FATHERS AND HIS SON JESUS CHRIST. We're supposed to be a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC not a democracy. VOTE for men of CHARACTER who stand for our VALUES, not butt kissers who entertain lobbiest with their hand out.

19. THE BLADEMANSat, Aug 28, 2010 @ 08:56 AM

TORT REFORM. The frivilous law suits piled on Sarah Palin and others are shameful and should be rewarded by fines, payments of defense lawyer fees, and pain and suffering damage awards and strenuous community service time. The perpetraitors of these vile acts seem to be mostly Democrats with the value system of a maggot. Reminds me of the difference between a lawyer and a catfish. One is a scum sucking bottom dweller and the other is a fish.

20. SteevieSat, Aug 28, 2010 @ 10:36 AM

This latest affront to every true American by this president, who apologized to the UN for all the so-called discrimination and human rights violations going on in our country is revolting! How dare he! But then why should we be surprised at his un-American activities? I say throw him and the UN out!

21. Mary CasonSat, Aug 28, 2010 @ 11:24 AM

I am proud to say I was born in Texas and I am a conservative Republican. I agree with these that have written on this blog about In God With Trust, Remember the Alamo! I have been to third world countries where communism has crippled their country to this day, even though they are out from under communism and have been for along as 20 years. Wake up America! Don't let them have Texas or our Nation!

22. CarrollSat, Aug 28, 2010 @ 11:44 AM

Does anyone know if our Texas legislators have done anything about moving up the date of the next presidential primary? If we have another late primary like 2008, we will wind up with limited choices as we did then ... having to vote for a candidate we did not like and not being able to vote for the candidate we did like. Texas deserves better.

We need to get the EPA's government hands off Lake Columbia, get the federal government HANDS OUT of TEXAS!

24. Little Gater Troup, Tx Sun, Aug 29, 2010 @ 07:27 AM

Please lets all join together and tell Hussein to stay out of Texas. Seceed if we have to.

I'm a native Texan who presently resides in New Hampshire. We're a tiny state, but its motto is "Live Free or Die". New Hampshire is disgusted with Washington and people here are ready and willing to join with others and take back our country. I would love to move back home one day, but my husband is a physician and is very concerned about Texas laws regarding medical lawsuits. Does Texas have tort reform yet?

26. Skyovertexas keller, tx Sun, Aug 29, 2010 @ 09:15 PM

"As Texas goes; so goes the nation".
Come home. Come back to Texas and defend her from this evil overtaking America.

Pretty interesting place you've got here. Thanx for it. I like such themes and everything that is connected to this matter. I definitely want to read a bit more on that blog soon.
